About this book

The story

Letters between Cardinal Mazarin, who governed France as chief minister through the young Louis XIV's minority, and Antoine d'Aumont, a marshal of France. Following their exchange comes a selection of letters written to d'Aumont by the King, the Queen Regent, Gaston d'Orléans, Cromwell, and the ministers Le Tellier and Louvois. The texts are in French.

This is a facsimile reproduction of an older edition, so original library stamps and notations remain, and some pages may be faint or marked. It suits historians of seventeenth-century France and anyone who prefers their history from the people who made it.
