Chronicon Ephratense: A History of the Community of Seventh Day Baptists at Ephrata, Lancaster County, Penn'a (Metalmark)

Letters from the inner circle of seventeenth-century French power.
Reading guide
This is a single volume to read from start to finish. Mazarin's correspondence with d'Aumont comes first, followed by the selection of letters addressed to the marshal.
The book opens with the exchange between Cardinal Mazarin and Antoine d'Aumont, then moves to letters written to d'Aumont by the King, the Queen Regent, Gaston d'Orléans, Cromwell, and the ministers Le Tellier and Louvois.

Description

This volume gathers the correspondence between Cardinal Mazarin, who governed France as chief minister during the young Louis XIV's minority, and Antoine d'Aumont, a marshal of France. Mazarin's letters to the marshal are followed by a selection of letters written to d'Aumont by the King, the Queen Regent, Gaston d'Orléans, Cromwell, and the ministers Le Tellier and Louvois.

The texts are in French. This is a facsimile reproduction of an older edition, so original library stamps and notations remain, and the publisher warns that some pages may be faint, blurred or marked. It will suit historians of seventeenth-century France and anyone who prefers to read history in the words of the people who made it.
