Superworm

A worm who can stretch himself into a lasso, a fishing-line or a skipping-rope is a handy friend to have in the garden, and Superworm is forever wiggling to someone's rescue. Julia Donaldson's bouncing rhymes and Axel Scheffler's bright, busy pictures make him a proper hero, all loops and swagger, with his insect friends cheering him on.

Then the wicked Wizard Lizard gets hold of him, and the rescuer suddenly needs rescuing. It falls to the smallest creatures in the garden to hatch a cunning plan of their own. It is a story about friends being brave for one another, with a rousing refrain that young children will be chanting along to by the second reading. One for little ones who love a hero, a villain and a rhyme that begs to be read aloud.
