The Deep End

Greg Heffley's family pile into the car for a cross-country camping trip, and it goes about as well as anyone who knows the Heffleys might expect. Plans go awry, and they end up stuck at a campsite that is nobody's idea of a summer paradise. Then the rain arrives, the water starts rising, and the question becomes whether the holiday can be rescued at all, or whether they are already in too deep.

The fifteenth Diary of a Wimpy Kid book keeps everything that has made the series such a fixture on children's bookshelves: Greg's put-upon, self-serving diary voice and Jeff Kinney's deadpan cartoons on nearly every page. It is a cheerful pick for young readers who have grown up with Greg, and for anyone who has ever endured a rained-off family holiday.
