# Tom Gates is not famous (yet)

Tom Gates has his heart set on stardom, and he is quite sure it is only a matter of time. Liz Pichon's latest story is full of starry-eyed dreams, family chaos and everyday mishaps, with Marcus Meldrew, Tom's ever-irritating classmate, showing off some proper diva behaviour along the way.

Every page mixes handwriting, cartoons and scribbled asides, so the jokes land in the pictures as much as in the words. Published by Scholastic in 2026, it is a cheerful, laugh-out-loud read for children who like their stories silly and their margins crowded.
