Dav Pilkey's Dog Man follows a half dog, half police officer and his ramshackle crew of friends, and this Scholastic title, published in 2026, is a comic-led adventure in that world. The story centres on Grandpa, a cantankerous anti-hero who alters the fabric of time and space, and it asks whether his villainy might be the soil in which Dog Man and his friends grow and bloom.

Readers can expect daft jokes, big-hearted characters and comic panels that children tend to revisit, along with a gentle message about stepping up and being the change. It suits young readers who enjoy humorous stories with superheroes and animals and want more of Pilkey's bold, playful style.
