# Threshing day

Set in Navarre, the world of the Empyrean is one of dragons, their riders and the brutal college that trains them. This collection of thirteen stories centres on Threshing, the day the dragons choose who is worthy to ride them, and returns to familiar characters and their dragons in shorter, self-contained form. It will suit readers who have already flown through the novels and want more time in this world.

Published by Piatkus in 2026, the deluxe first edition includes sixteen full-colour illustrations by Joe Requeza and silver-gilded edges, while stock lasts. The publisher has yet to reveal a full description of the stories, so the collection is best approached as a way back into a world readers already know.
