# The Unknown

*The Unknown* is a Gothic psychological thriller set on New Avalon, an island on Lake Faraday in Vermont. In 1926, the spiritual mediums who lived there vanished, leaving only five dresses hanging from an old oak tree. A century later, struggling actress Marin Keane joins a film about the mystery, which requires a research trip to the island alongside actress Violet Wright and director Ronan Peters.

When a health emergency strands the group, the disappearances start again, and Marin turns to the diary of Daisy Rue, one of the vanished women, which describes a séance gone wrong. Strange noises and old symbols add to the unease, and the story never settles whether a saboteur or something older is to blame.
