# The State of This!: A Thicky Thicky Dumb Dumb's Guide to British Politics

The State of This! is a guide to British politics for readers who have nodded along to the news without quite knowing what is going on. Its subtitle openly pitches it at the self-confessed thicky thicky dumb dumb, and it uses satire to make sense of a system that can often seem to make none. The tone is light rather than lecturing, aimed at readers who would sooner laugh than be instructed.

Munya Chawawa describes the book as a tonic and an educator for mad times, and that praise, quoted on the publisher's blurb, sums up its appeal. It suits curious readers who feel baffled by British politics and would like an accessible way in.
