# The Seven Sisters

Lucinda Riley's novel follows Maia D'Aplièse, eldest of six sisters adopted as babies by a man known as Pa Salt and named after stars in the Pleiades. When news of his death brings them home to Atlantis, the family house on Lake Geneva, where each sister is left a clue to her origins. Maia's trail leads to Rio de Janeiro and a crumbling mansion holding the story of Izabela Bonifacio, a young woman of the 1920s whose life reaches as far as Paris and the building of Christ the Redeemer above the city.

Published in 2014, it moves between present-day discovery and a historical romance, with a family mystery running through both. It suits readers who love dual timelines, faraway settings and the gradual uncovering of a family's secrets.
