# The Secret Thread

Eve Chase's *The Secret Thread*, published in 2026, centres on Mimi Caswell, a famously private style icon and interiors figure who is leaving Manhattan for London. She is selling her legendary estate and staging an auction that presents her life through the objects she has owned. Her new assistant, Jo, is drawn into that glamorous world while keeping a secret of her own.

As Jo examines the stories behind each possession, Mimi's polished history begins to unravel. Humble beginnings, an estranged sister and a death at a country house party long ago come to light, along with a far darker version of events running beneath them. Readers who enjoy old houses, family secrets and the stories that objects carry will find much to absorb them here. Chase is also the author of *The Midnight Hour*.
