# The Last Letter from Your Lover

Jojo Moyes's novel follows two women whose stories are wound together across forty years. Ellie, a journalist, finds a 1960 letter in her newspaper's archive, in which a man begs his lover to leave her husband, and the old affair draws her in, all the more so given her own romance with a married man. Jennifer wakes in hospital after a car accident with no memory of her husband or friends, until a hidden letter at home brings back the lover she was ready to risk everything for.

Real "last letters" are interspersed through the story. The novel has won awards and been made into a film. It suits readers who believe a handwritten note can change a life, and who like their romance with an ache in it.
