# The Heights

Ian Rankin's The Heights is set in a luxury tower facing Hyde Park, with an infinity pool and a private cinema, where residents expect service and privacy on their own terms. When night concierge Dwayne Hogarth is found dead in the lobby, Detective Sergeant Gillian Gish begins questioning everyone under its gleaming roof.

Her inquiries start with a fourth-floor party that ended in a fight, a missing apartment key and a gap in the security footage. They lead beneath the polish of the building and its residents, who include an art dealer, a young pop star, a foreign heiress and a gangster's wife. Rankin, long associated with Edinburgh, turns his eye on moneyed London in this closed-world mystery.
