# The Colour of Hope

Sabrina Thompson, a Los Angeles gallery owner, is isolated after her husband's death. She escapes to a fishing village in south-west France and takes refuge at the Château de Bonport, where Xavier de Bonport, its owner, is still reeling from the collapse of his business during the pandemic. Both are starting over.

The village, with its history and charm, does much of the quiet work. Sabrina finds purpose in the life of the community, while Xavier works out what he needs to move forward in his work and personal life. Danielle Steel, whose books have sold more than a billion copies, wrote this novel about second chances and the courage to find joy again. Macmillan published it in 2025.
