# The assassin's blade

Celaena Sardothien is already the most feared assassin in her kingdom, working for the Assassin's Guild under its master, Arobynn Hamel. She answers to no one and trusts only Sam, a fellow killer for hire. When Arobynn sends her from remote islands to hostile deserts, she begins to act on her own judgement and to question where her loyalty lies.

Published by Bloomsbury in 2014, this book gathers five novellas that fill in the history before Sarah J. Maas's Throne of Glass. Each is a self-contained adventure, and together they follow a gifted young killer learning to choose for herself. Readers who already know Celaena will see her independence take shape, and newcomers can use it as a way into her world.
