Stars of Mythology: Egyptian

Twelve figures from ancient Egypt, introduced in their own words.
Reading guide
This book works as a standalone read, so it can be started anywhere, but reading the chapters in order lets each pair of characters build on the myths that come before.
Each chapter opens with factfiles for two characters, written as 'In His Own Words' sections covering parents, powers, crowning achievements and who they are not to be confused with. A magazine-style retelling of a myth starring those two characters follows. Across six chapters the book covers twelve figures, including gods, goddesses, demons, mortals and the sphinx.

Description

Egyptian is a light-hearted guide to the gods, goddesses, demons, mortals and sphinx of ancient Egyptian myth. Written as a 'Who's Who', it introduces twelve characters through factfiles in their own voices, listing parents, powers, crowning achievements and who they are not to be confused with.

Each of the six chapters pairs two characters and follows their factfiles with a myth retelling in magazine style, full of adventures and betrayals. The gossipy, informal tone lets each personality shine, making it an accessible introduction for curious readers of nine and up who like their history with a bit of scandal.
