Radical Aesthetics-Radical Art Ser

Art as a tool for emancipation and social equality in Central Europe.
Reading guide
This is the first volume in the Radical Aesthetics-Radical Art series.
The series analyzes the shift from immediate aesthetic experiences to enduring community-based artistic projects that challenge systemic oppression.

Description

The Radical Aesthetics-Radical Art series examines the intersection of creative practice and political resistance. Focusing on the post-socialist Central European region, including the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia, this series explores how artistic strategies can foster emancipatory consciousness within marginalized communities.

By integrating contemporary philosophy with feminist, queer, and decolonial art theory, the series highlights the role of aesthetics in challenging nationalism, homophobia, and xenophobia. These works emphasize a shift toward enduring aesthetic experiences that build inclusive collective memories and provide critical support for gender, sexual, and racialized groups.
