# Lottie Brooks’s Twelve Disasters of Christmas

Katie Kirby's festive short story collection moves the focus away from Lottie Brooks and onto her friends, the Queens of Eight Green. Across its stories, the group moves through the Christmas season. Readers see what Amber eats on Christmas Day, whether Molly receives the present she has been hoping for, what goes wrong for Poppy on New Year's Eve, and how Jess comes to her family's rescue.

The tone is warm, funny and honest about friendship and growing up, with a light, chatty voice that suits reading aloud. Penguin Random House Children's UK published the book in 2026. It is aimed at readers of nine or ten and up, and it works well for anyone who enjoys stories about school friendships, family life and the small disasters of the holidays.
