Dear Santa

A child writes to Santa asking for something special for Christmas, and one brightly wrapped present after another arrives. Each page has a sturdy card flap to lift, and behind it is Santa's latest attempt. The shop description says the final page has a touch-and-feel surprise that answers whether he finds the perfect gift.

Rod Campbell, who created Dear Zoo, uses a similar pattern here: bold, cheerful pictures, a simple repeating text and plenty of chances for small hands to do the opening. The publisher marks twenty years of the book, and this chunky board book has a gold foiled cover that suits gifting at Christmas.
