Chain Reaction

Jack Reacher is famously hard to find, and he likes it that way. So when General Susan Turner, working deep inside the Pentagon, finally tracks him down, it is because she needs his help. A member of her team has been brutally murdered on covert duty, and she cannot trust anyone she works with, not even her deputy. She needs an outsider who solves problems and disappears without a trace.

Reacher heads to Summertown, Colorado, a landscape of one diner, one motel, five massive data centres and two solar farms humming in the dust. The blurb promises a lean thriller set in a near-empty place of servers and silence, where the trouble may reach all the way up the chain of command. It suits readers who enjoy justice delivered quietly and completely.
