# Bone Head

Written as a diary, the story centres on Demise, known as Bone Head, a skeleton guardian of the underworld who considers himself the finest one ever assembled. Dragons and fire do not trouble him. What does is that Hades, his Big Boss, barely knows he exists. An attempt to win attention goes badly wrong, and Demise and his partner Mort are given dog-sitting duty. The dog is Cerberus, the three-headed hound, which is a handful for two creatures made of bones.

The book's bickering double act drives much of the comedy, and its two-colour illustrations run throughout. It suits young readers who enjoy Greek myths told silly, with heroes who are hopelessly overconfident.
