Absolute Superman Vol. 3: The Neverending Begins

Superman, changed by the Battle of Kansas, has no time to recover.
Reading guide
This is the third volume of Jason Aaron's run, so read the earlier volumes first to follow the story from the start.
After the Battle of Kansas, Superman deals with personal and practical changes, including his allies and his costume. The Parasite threatens Metropolis, Superman accepts Hawkman's help, and the Lazarus Corporation's hidden weapons and secrets, including the sarcophagus of King Shazam, raise the stakes.

Description

The Battle of Kansas is over, but its cost is not. Superman comes out of it altered in his life, his alliances and even his costume, and he has no chance to take stock. In Metropolis the Parasite is on the loose, and the threat is serious enough that Superman must accept help from Hawkman.

This third volume of Jason Aaron's run, part of DC's Absolute line, widens the cast and raises the stakes. The Lazarus Corporation may be retreating, but it has left hidden caches of weapons and world-ending secrets behind, the most dangerous being the sarcophagus of the legendary King Shazam. The book stays focused on a hero still working out who he is after a defeat that cost him dearly.
