About this book
The story
Earl Grafton and the Traitor is the first volume of the Fernley Family A Regency-era Romance. This historical romance follows Baxter Fernley, the Earl of Grafton, a dedicated magistrate and member of the ton. His structured life is disrupted when he meets Briar Kensington, an American woman whose arrival is marked by a muddy encounter and immediate tension. Baxter suspects Briar of attempting to trap him into marriage, while Briar views him as an impolite neighbor with little common sense.
As a clean and wholesome work of Regency fiction, the story explores the friction between these two opposites. Despite their initial mutual dislike and accusations of treason, Baxter and Briar begin to admire each other's strength and loyalty. This literature and fiction title tracks their transition from enemies to potential lovers within the strict social confines of the English peerage.
