The Boffee Bears

Somewhere, the teddy bears that children have outgrown are getting on with lives of their own. Angela Kincaid's picture book follows three of them, BB, Tatty Ted and Ragtime, and asks what becomes of a bear once nobody needs it at bedtime any more: where it goes, and what it gets up to when no one is watching.

It is a gentle, beautifully illustrated story, and short enough to share at the end of the day. Small children who sleep with a well-loved bear will take to it at once, and so will any grown-up who still wonders what happened to their own.
