About this book

The story

On the morning of 25 April 1915, Australian troops came ashore on the Gallipoli Peninsula at what is now called Anzac Cove, and pushed up from the beach towards Plugge's Plateau, taking heavy casualties as they climbed. Just after midday, soldiers from New Zealand landed to join them. David W Cameron centres his account on that single day of the landing, the first day of the Anzac story.

For anyone drawn to the First World War, or to the day Australia and New Zealand still mark each April, this is a close look at where it began.
