Of Saints and Monsters: Deluxe Limited Edition

Magic on the rain-swept island of San Cristóbal runs on borrowed light. Marcela Montenegro is a Vessel, her aura drawn upon to power a wealthy Santo's spells under the strict rule of the Church. Her Santa, Sulema Castillo, is a true friend, but it is still a life sentence. Then Sulema is promised to the stoic Comandante of rival Basca, whose people's secret way with animals may be the only answer to the monstruos tearing through the island's towns.

Recruited to spy on Bascan magic in exchange for freedom, Marcela feels her loyalties and her faith begin to slip. Rooted in Puerto Rican history and culture, Monica Sanz's fantasy explores colonial power and resistance through sisterhood, romance and monsters. This deluxe edition has stencilled edges and special endpapers. A defiant, heartfelt choice for lovers of political fantasy.
