The Elsewhere Express

Raya has been drifting through her life without a dream to call her own, until one night on the subway home her thoughts wander too far and she wakes aboard the Elsewhere Express. It is a train that offers its passengers purpose, peace and belonging, but only if Raya can find her own compartment before time runs out. With Q, an intriguing artist, she makes her way through a boarding car carpeted in meadow grass and a dining carriage where passengers picnic on lilypads.

Not everything on board is benign: a mysterious stowaway has brought a dark magic that threatens the whole train. Samantha Sotto Yambao, the bestselling author of Water Moon, writes with a dreamy, Ghibli-like tenderness about grief, loneliness and the search for where you belong. A gentle, hopeful fantasy for anyone who has ever felt a little lost.
