My Not So Perfect Life

Katie Brenner's Instagram tells a lovely story: a flat in London, a glamorous job, a stylish life. The reality is a rented room too small for a wardrobe, a grim commute and a lowly admin post under Demeter, a boss who seems to have everything. When Demeter sacks her, Katie retreats home to Somerset to help her dad with his new glamping business, and London starts to feel very far away.

Then Demeter and her family book in for a holiday, and Katie has a choice to make: take her revenge, or try to win her job back. Sophie Kinsella plays the setup for farce and warmth in equal measure, while quietly asking whether anyone's polished life is quite what it seems. A funny, generous comedy for anyone who has ever compared themselves to a filtered photograph.
