## About this book

Kateryn Parr is thirty, widowed and secretly in love with another man when Henry VIII commands her to become his sixth wife. Refusal is impossible, and she knows exactly how briefly the last two queens lasted. Philippa Gregory follows her as she wins the king's affection, draws his children together, gathers a radical study circle at court and governs England as Regent. She is a reformer in faith, a writer and scholar, and a woman with a mind of her own in a court that punishes independence.

The tension lies in how unstable her footing is. Traditional churchmen and rivals for power are watching, Protestants are dying for their beliefs, and the husband who adores her can turn on anyone. This is Tudor history told from the inside, for readers who like their queens thinking, writing and fighting to stay alive.
