## About this book

MSG is the king of flavour, the rice cooker deserves respect, and there is a right way to make fried rice. Comedian Nigel Ng brings his Uncle Roger voice from screen to stove with more than seventy recipes, opening with Fry Rice and his own Egg Fry Rice. Then come noodles such as Pad Thai and Niece Tway's Pho, crowd-pleasers like Chicken Satay and Real Sweet and Sour Pork, and comforting desserts including Red Bean Soup and Bubur Cha Cha.

Under the jokes and strong opinions sits genuine teaching: how to pound spices, choose the right chillies, master the wok and find your way round an Asian grocery. Personal stories and some very unusual photography keep things lively. A cookbook for home cooks who like to laugh while they learn, and would rather not be told off.
