A study of the Classis Britannica, Rome's British Channel Fleet, which existed for around 200 years, but which left very little evidence of its passing.

This book concentrates on researching the evidence for the Fleet's forts and harbours in the English counties of Kent and Sussex, the only places where the Fleet's stamped tiles have been found.
