About this book
The story
The Letherii Empire is rotting from the throne down. Rhulad Sengar, the Emperor of a Thousand Deaths, is sliding into madness while his scheming chancellor's agents circle and the secret police wage terror on their own people. Even the Errant, a god who once saw far ahead, has gone blind to what is coming. Sailing towards it all with the Edur fleet are Karsa Orlong and Icarium Lifestealer, each fated to cross blades with the emperor.
Elsewhere, Fear Sengar leads a band of fugitives in search of the soul of Scabandari Bloodeye, hoping it might save his brother. Travelling with them is Silchas Ruin, Scabandari's most ancient foe, his wounds still fresh and his motives his own. The seventh novel in the Malazan Book of the Fallen is dark, violent and vast in scale, and it richly rewards those who have followed Erikson this far.
