The Imagitorium

The Imagitorium by Sarah Beth Durst is the first volume in a whimsical children's fantasy adventure. Ten-year-old Amelia, a shy daydreamer, has always waited for the day she can enter the magical Imagitorium to create her own imaginary friend. When she finally does, she walks out of the Creation Room with Ruru, a fluffy bearlike companion with butterfly wings, and into utter chaos.

The factory, filled with dragons, sea monsters, and candy cyclones, is falling apart. The Caretaker is missing, and Amelia must step up to find her. Though she's never seen herself as a hero, she realizes she might be able to help save the fantastic creatures and restore order to the Imagitorium.
