About this book
The story
Long before scarabs became museum-shop trinkets, they were working objects in ancient Egypt: seals pressed into clay, amulets carried for protection, small carved beetles bearing names and titles. Percy Edward Newberry, the English Egyptologist, wrote this study in the early twentieth century, when the systematic understanding of these objects was still being established.
This is a facsimile reprint of the original, so expect the occasional mark or imperfect page carried over from the source copy. It is a fine find for collectors of scarabs, students of Egyptology and anyone curious about how the early scholars of the field set out their knowledge.
