The Naked Detective

Pete Amsterdam never meant to solve anything. He opened his private investigator's office as a tax write-off, a handy line on the accounts and nothing more. Then a real client walks through the door with a real case, and the problems that follow are very real indeed.

Laurence Shames, best known for his comic crime novels set in Key West, makes good sport of a man forced to become the detective his nameplate claims he is. It suits anyone who likes their crime fiction wry and light-footed, with a reluctant hero who is as surprised as anyone to find himself on the job.
