Fourth wing

Violet Sorrengail was meant to spend her life among books. Instead she is forced into Basgiath War College, the deadliest training ground in her world, where cadets compete to become dragon riders. The dragons do not choose fragile riders; they burn them. With a body that breaks easily, Violet must rely on her wits simply to survive until morning.

Her surname makes her a target, and some cadets would kill her for it alone, Xaden Riorson among them, the ruthless son of her family's greatest enemy. The first book in Rebecca Yarros's Empyrean series is a fierce mix of military academy, dragons and slow-burning enemies-to-lovers romance. It is for anyone who likes their fantasy dangerous and their romance charged, and who wants to find the next book in the series straight after.
