## About this book

Four women arrive at university in the 1980s with almost nothing in common except an appetite for living. Somewhere between the romantic disasters, the long nights of gossip and one bottle of wine too many, they become friends, name themselves the Tenko club and promise always to be there for one another. Elizabeth Noble picks up their story twenty years on, when that student vow is put to the test.

Noble, the bestselling author of The Reading Group, writes about female friendship with real warmth, and about the hold that the people who knew us at nineteen keep on us. This is a novel about loyalty, shared history and what grown-up life does to old promises. A generous, companionable read for anyone who still has a friend they would call at two in the morning.
