## About this book

Two weeks before D-Day, the French Resistance throws everything at a heavily defended telephone exchange that carries the Nazis' communications across northern France, and the attack fails disastrously. With the Allied invasion only days away, British agent Flick Clairet proposes a bolder plan: an all-female team, the Jackdaws, will slip inside the exchange and knock it out before the landings begin.

What Flick does not know is that Rommel has set a brilliant spy-catcher, Dieter Franck, to crush the Resistance, and he is already closing in. Follett builds the story as a contest between two sharp, determined people working against the clock, with love, courage and revenge driving it on. A big, absorbing wartime thriller for anyone who likes their history with a ticking clock and plenty at stake.
