About this book
The story
Three hungry goats, one bridge and a grumbling troll underneath it: the old Norwegian folk tale of the Billy Goats Gruff is retold here by Sue Arengo for children taking their first steps in English. Part of Oxford's Classic Tales series at Level 1, it tells the whole story in around 450 words, with the repetition of trip, trap and who's that crossing my bridge doing much of the teaching.
A gentle, confident start for young learners of English, and for the teachers and parents reading alongside them.
